Day in, day out, all municipalities face 'geographic' constraints which impair the safety and the productivity of the collection program:  hilly streets, bad weather such as snow, downtown narrow streets and alleys,  As of today collecting wheeled carts in such constricted areas with an automated arm was proving to be next to impossible.  Most of these locations show for high fences or walls, or even thick tree branches growing across the route.

Labrie Environmental Group, ever dedicated to its customers' needs, had the engineering and product management groups developed the new Versa Hand™" lifting arm for its straight frame side-loader vehicle, the Automizer™.  This collection truck is therefore designed, in particular, to automate refuse and recyclable collection found in those difficult areas, in addition to standard residential cart collection routes.  Productivity, safety and efficiency are driving forces behind this new unit.

The key features of the Versa Hand™ are its zero-grab capability that extends telescopically up to 108 inches for cart pick-up; and its zero-swing out capability which allows grabbing and dumping a cart resting alongside a fence.  Unbelievable! 

The unique grabber synchronizing method will ease the pickup of carts close together.  The300 gal grabber option runs fast with 96 gal carts, and strong with 300 gal carts, easily selectable from a button on the joystick. The Automizer Versa Hand™ shows for an average of 140 stops per hour, day in, day out,   monthly low maintenance fees and continuous reliability and ease-of-use.  This is what higher productivity is all about! 

Another new and unique feature of the Automizer™ is the Full Eject Live Floor™ for safer and easier unloading on unpacked ground. This new feature allows unloading in low-height areas. It's available with both the Right-Hand™ and Versa Hand™ automated lifting arms, and includes Labrie's efficient packer design.  As you know, the hydraulic system runs cooler than anything else presently available on the market without a separate cooling radiator.  An example of the visionary and innovative thinking of Labrie Environmental Group's R & D team!

Training and ergonomics:


Any operator, in a very short training period, can handle this robotic arm efficiently and safely.  Compared to the majority of automated lifting arms available on the market, the Versa Hand™ is the most user-friendly.

The smooth cushioning at the end of the Versa Hand's slide, grab & dump" cycle significantly decreases the rocking action a typical collection unit experiences at the end of a circuit.  This provides additional ergonomic quality to the vehicle.
